During 7 days you will learn all you need to know about white- and redfish and how to work with this different fish.
The activity will last from 02.02.2020 to 07.02.2020.
Day 1 : Arrival, guiding around to understand were will spend the next days
Day 2 : Visiting a fish factory, getting our fish and learn how to cut a filet and learn what else we can
do with the fish, hanging up the fish to get a dryfish. Prepare our dinner together.
Day 3 : Visiting a Salmon farm and learn about growing up salmon. At home we are cutting the filet
and prepare our own Gravlax .
Day 4 : Fishing tour. We are going out on a boat and try to get our own fish. We are learning why the
fish is coming to Vesterålen and why our area is so famous for codfish. We take our own
catch home and prepare it for dinner.
Day 5 :Ice fishing day. In case that there is not ice on the lakes we are going out again for fishing.
Day 6 :Visiting the places where the fishermen get prepared their longlines. We are also trying to
make our own longline. We are ending the day by preparing “skreimølje” The traditional
food we are eating in Vesterålen when the first Skrei is visiting us.
Day 7 : Departure after breakfast. Transfer to the airport for those who are leaving today
The price includes one person in a double room with full board and daily activity. Aslo the transfer from/to the airport is included on the first and last day.
Depending on the weather it can be that we have to skip the fishing tours and offer other activities like visiting a Samish farm or other museums.
It is possible to book additional overnight stay before and after this event for NOK 465,- per night in a double room (only overnight – food will come extra)
